  • Investigations: Mr Luke Owoyesigire, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson said Police have recorded the statement of the owner of the salon, Jovia Nanziiri, to help in investigations.

Police in Katwe are investigating the death of a 25-year-old man at Kategura Zone in Makindye Division, Kampala.

Moses Ssazi, who was working at a salon and gaming business at Kategura Zone, was robbed of items worth Shs200m and killed about 150 metres away from Katwe Police Station last Sunday by unidentified assailants.

According to the police report filed at Katwe Police Station, on Sunday night, a group of unidentified people went to the residence of Ssazi, broke into his house and strangled him.

The report further states that the intruders later tied him up with a belt, cut off his head and went away with four flat screen TV sets and other items.

Mr Abel Kintu, a security guard at the building next to the crime scene, said at around 1am, he saw a black Toyota Harrier vehicle parked at the salon of the deceased but he thought it was his boss’ car since she drove a similar car.

A source at Katwe Police Station told Daily Monitor that while they were viewing the CCTV footage, they saw a black vehicle suspected to have been used by the killers.

Mr Luke Owoyesigire, the Kampala Metropolitan police deputy spokesperson, said when police received information, a team of detectives visited the scene and took the body away for post-mortem.

“We have recorded the statement of the owner of the salon, Jovia Nanziiri, to help us in our investigations,” Mr Owoyesigire said.
