MASAKA- Police in Masaka District are investigating circumstances under which an American tourist died on Tuesday evening while driving to Ssese Islands in Kalangala District.
Before travelling to Masaka, William E. Davis, from San Antonia,Texas in the US was booked in Christian Glory Hotel in Muyenga, Kampala.
The Southern region Police spokesman, Mr Lameck Kigozi said that Davis was driving a Toyota Hiace Super Custom Reg. No. UAV 347 F.

The vehicle was reportedly involved in accident at Bunada village, Bukakkata Sub-county in Masaka District.
However, Mr Kigozi says the accident claims are suspicious.
"Police received a report that the American national died in an accident. However, there is no evidence to prove that," Mr Kigozi said.

Mr Kigozi said he received information that the deceased was last seen in Austin Restaurant in Nyendo, Masaka Municipality with three people who later reportedly dropped his body at Masaka Regional Referral Hospital and disappeared.
He said the tour company that handled Davis’ tour schedule has been contacted as police search for details about the three people who were last seen with the deceased.
