Korean Embassy lauds NMG over Covid-19 coverage

The Korean Embassy and the Korean Association of Uganda, have applauded the Nation Media Group for the timely Covid-19 coverage events as they are unfolding.

While delivering Korean food lunch packs to the Monitor Publications Staff on Friday, Mr Kyungsoo Kim the General secretary Korean Association of Uganda said the lunch they delivered to the Monitor Publications and NTV staff, is their token of appreciation over the Covid-19 reporting which kept Korean Nationals living in Uganda informed about the trends the disease was taking and the necessary precautions to stay safe.

“The Korean Association of Uganda together with the Korean Embassy Uganda donated 250 packs of Korean lunch meal boxes to NTV and Daily Monitor to appreciate you for your role in curbing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Uganda through informing the public," he said as he handed over Korean lunch meals to Mr Tony Glencross, the Managing Director NMG-Uganda.

The Nation Media Group staff are among the Covid-19 frontline staff that the Korean Embassy, the Association together with Korean Companies in Uganda are moving around appreciating for  their role in curbing the spread of Covid-19 through informing the public.

The others include Office of the Prime Minister Staff, Ministry of Health workers, Mulago Hospital Staff and Entebbe Grade B hospital staff among others.

Tony Glencross thanked the association for the gesture, saying it shows that out there, there are people watching the important role the media plays in society.
