Man dies in Lira lodge after sex

Police in Lira District in northern Uganda are investigating circumstance under which a 38-year-old-man died at one of the lodges in Lira town after having sex with a yet to be identified woman.
North Kyoga regional police spokesman ASP David Ongom Mudong told journalists on Sunday evening that: “On Saturday evening May 19, at about 6pm, the body of one Ogwang Kizito, a resident of Alololo Parish in Alebtong District was found lying in one of the rooms of Blue Valley Lodge along Olwol Road in Lira town.”

“Police scene of crime officers and the homicide team visited the scene and recovered, a mobile phone belonging to the deceased, a national identity card in the names of the deceased, medication tablets and used condoms”, Mr Ongom Mudong added .
He said the circumstances surrounding Ogwang’s death is not yet clear since the postmortem is yet to be conducted and the body of the deceased is still lying at Lira regional referral hospital mortuary.

He said relatives have so far been notified but no arrest has been made to this effect. A case of sudden death has been registered at Lira Central Police Station Homicide department and the management of Blue Valley Lodge so far have recorded statements, according to police.
