Opondo also stated that the signing by President Museveni will take place at state house Entebbe at 11.00am. This comes after Western Media houses stated over the weekend that President Museveni will not sign the bill.

President Yoweri Museveni is set to sign the Anti-Homosexuality Bill into law today. Ofwono Opondo, the Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre confirmed this morning and invited media representatives to witness the signing.

Opondo also stated that the signing by President Museveni will take place at state house Entebbe at 11.00am. This comes after Western Media houses stated over the weekend that President Museveni will not sign the bill.

"Propaganda for blackmail against anti-gay law by European and US media won't derail President Museveni signing. The Western media should now swallow their own weekend lie that President Museveni won't sign anti-homosexuality law" Ofwono said, adding that the president will be signing the bill.

The Anti-gay bill has lately taken the media by storm, characterized by end to end statements from both President Barrack Obama and Yoweri Museveni, with Museveni stating that:

"Their unanimous conclusion was that homosexuality, contrary to my earlier thinking, was behavioural and not genetic. It was learnt and could be unlearnt. I told them to put their signatures to that conclusion which they did. That is why I declared my intention to sign the Bill, which I will do."
