Wanted Luweero killer arrested in Abim District

LUWEERO- A woman who allegedly killed her 9-year-old niece in Luweero District, recently, has been arrested in Abim District.

Eva Nagawa, 26, was arrested while registering to get a National Identity Card.

“Nagawa has been on the run for the last one month after she reportedly tortured her niece to death   at her home in Kasoma Zone, Luweero Town Council,”  Savana Region Police Spokesperson, Mr Paul Kangave said on Friday.

 Nagawa who allegedly committed the crime on July 4, faces possible murder charges, according to police.

Nagawa reportedly tortured to death her niece after suspecting her of stealing Shs5, 000 from the house.

 According to Nagawa’s neighbours, she reportedly used an electric cable and a stick to batter the girl.

She fled the home when the girl collapsed and died.

An electric cable and a stick that were allegedly used by the suspect to commit the crime were recovered from the house, according to Ms Rebecca Ayeta, the Ofiicer in charge of Luweero Central Police Station.
