Rwenzori Beverages have been crowned champions of the 2010 MTN Kampala Marathon 10km Corporate Challenge. Rwenzori narrowly edged Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) to the title that came with a Shs1.5m cash prize.

“This time round, the corporate race was so competitive,” Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) administrator Timothy Masaba told Daily Monitor yesterday. UWA had the best individual performer in Felix Yerikana, who clocked an impressive 32:50 minutes. He was followed by teammate Peter Kibet, who came home in 34:13 minutes.

Roofings, City Tyres, Stanbic Bank and Ministry of Health were the other impressive teams in the Corporate Challenge but Rwenzori prevailed in the December 5 showpiece. The Namanve-based company celebrated their victory with a dinner last Friday.
